As a real estate agent, being well-versed in the impact of changing weather patterns on the community is valuable for helping your clients prepare for extreme weather events such as hurricanes, winter storms, tornadoes and flooding. Natural disaster statistics by year show these events are occurring more frequently. According to the NOAA, in the last three years, the U.S. experienced an average of 20 disasters, each causing over a billion dollars in damage per year, up from an average of 12.8 per year in the 2010s and 6.7 per year in the 2000s.

With these increasing risks, it is a good idea to make your clients aware that they should be adequately prepared and protected to mitigate the risks associated with natural disasters. Doing this can build trust, loyalty and long-lasting client relationships.
